Payment and delivery integrations for online stores in Estonia

Shoppers in Estonia expect two things: to pay through their own bank and to collect the parcel from a locker near home. This page lists the payment and shipping services the studio connects to a website, what the engine already includes and what is built as separate development.

Built into the engine

Online payments through Montonio: bank links for Estonian banks and card payments. The shopper picks a bank right at checkout, confirms the payment in their online bank and comes back to the site, and the order status updates on its own.

Parcel lockers through Montonio Shipping: Omniva, DPD and SmartPosti. The shopper finds a specific locker by street or shop name, and the chosen point is saved with the order and reaches the store owner together with it.

Built as separate development

Maksekeskus and Stripe are not built into the engine. Connecting them is separate development within a project: the starting price is shown on each service’s page, while the scope, timeline and exact amount are estimated for the task and fixed in the contract before work starts. The same applies to automatic shipment creation with the carrier, buy-now-pay-later and other scenarios outside the standard setup.

Contracts, keys and money

The business signs the contract with the payment provider directly and pays the provider’s fees under its own pricing. Shoppers’ money goes to the store’s account; the studio has no access to it. Only the API keys from the provider’s dashboard go into the site’s admin panel, and the secret key is never shown in full after saving.

Carriers are connected in the Montonio dashboard, either under the business’s own carrier contract or under Montonio’s contract. That choice belongs to the store owner.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which payment provider suits a store selling in Estonia?

For most stores Montonio is enough: it covers bank links and cards and is already built into the engine. Stripe makes sense when subscriptions are needed or most buyers are abroad.

Can several payment providers run at once?

Yes, but any provider besides Montonio is separate development. It is worth checking first what Montonio lacks, and only then adding a second contract.

Is the integration included in the website price?

Montonio and Omniva, DPD and SmartPosti parcel lockers are included in the online store price and set up within the store project. Connecting Maksekeskus or Stripe has its own starting price, shown on their pages; the exact amount is fixed in the quote and contract before work starts.

What happens while online payments are not connected yet?

The site keeps working: checkout offers payment on delivery. Once the Montonio contract is ready, the keys go into the admin panel and bank links appear at checkout.

Who handles fees and payouts?

The payment provider, under its contract with your company. Terms, fees and payout schedules are agreed with the provider directly.
