Omniva parcel machine delivery for online stores

Omniva runs parcel machines across Estonia. On the studio’s websites Omniva parcel machine selection is built in through Montonio Shipping: the shopper picks a specific machine right at checkout, with no separate development needed.

What the shopper sees

At checkout the shopper chooses parcel machine delivery, then Omniva, and searches by street, shopping centre or town. The list loads once and is filtered in the browser, so search stays fast on a phone too. The chosen machine stays visible as a card with its address and a “Change” button.

After ordering, the shopper receives an email naming the chosen parcel machine. The pickup code is sent by Omniva itself once the parcel arrives.

What the owner gets in the admin panel

  • The order arrives in the admin panel, Telegram and email, with the parcel machine and its address on the order card.
  • Delivery price and the order total for free delivery are set in the order settings.
  • Order statuses change in the admin panel, and the shopper gets a notification from a template.
  • Parcel machine delivery can be switched off with one toggle — for example, during a holiday.

How shipping labels are created

The label is created in the Montonio dashboard: a new shipment, with the shopper’s and parcel machine details taken from the order. Labels can be printed in batches there, and shipments tracked.

Automatic transfer of orders to Montonio, so that a shipment is created without manual entry, is not built into the engine. For stores with many orders it is added as separate development within a project.

What the business needs to provide

  • A Montonio contract and API keys — the same ones used for payments.
  • Omniva connected in the Montonio dashboard: under Montonio’s contract or your own Omniva business customer contract.
  • A decision on what shoppers pay for delivery and from which order total delivery is free.

What to put on the delivery page

  • Within how many working days an order is handed to Omniva, and the cut-off time for same-day dispatch.
  • How long a parcel waits in the machine and what happens if it is not collected.
  • How returns work: through a parcel machine, by arrangement or another way.
  • Which products do not fit in a parcel machine and how they are delivered.

How the connection works

  • Omniva is connected in the Montonio dashboard.
  • Keys go into the admin panel, and the connection check shows the carrier with parcel machines is available.
  • A test order is placed with a machine selected, and a label is created in the Montonio dashboard.
  • Parcel machine delivery is switched on for shoppers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can Omniva be offered on its own, without other carriers?

Yes. Checkout shows the carriers connected in the Montonio dashboard. If only Omniva is connected, shoppers see only Omniva.

Is a direct contract with Omniva required?

Not necessarily. Montonio lets a store work under its own contract or under Montonio’s. The choice depends on shipment volume and the terms agreed with the providers.

Do Omniva parcel machines cost extra?

Not from the studio: parcel machine selection is included in the online store price. Parcel shipping itself is paid to the carrier or Montonio Shipping at their rates.

Does parcel machine selection work for buyers in Latvia and Lithuania?

The machine list loads for the country set in the payment and shipping settings. Shipping to several countries is best discussed when the project is estimated.

Can labels be printed straight from the site’s admin panel?

For now labels are printed in the Montonio dashboard. Creating shipments from the site’s admin panel is separate development.

How does the shopper know the parcel has arrived?

Omniva sends the notification with the pickup code. The site, for its part, tells the shopper about order status changes if notifications are switched on in the admin panel.
