Website development for small businesses in Estonia
solanasite designs and builds websites for small and medium-sized businesses across Estonia — from a simple brochure site to a site with online booking or a full store. Every site runs on the studio’s own engine and comes with an admin panel, so day-to-day changes never require a developer.

What website development includes
- A page structure built around your services and the way customers search for them on Google.
- Mobile-first design, since most visitors arrive on a phone.
- An admin panel for texts, prices, photos and services, showing only the sections your business needs.
- English, Estonian and Russian versions on separate URLs, with hreflang tags and their own titles and descriptions.
- An enquiry form that delivers messages to Telegram and email.
- Built-in visitor analytics with no third-party trackers, and a cookie banner where “accept” and “decline” are real choices.
- Templates for legal pages: terms, returns and privacy policy.
- Domain connection, HTTPS certificate and database backups.
Types of websites we build
- Landing page — a single page for one offer or ad campaign.
- Brochure site — a few pages about the company, services and contacts.
- Corporate website — a dedicated page per service, project gallery, client reviews.
- Booking website — services, staff, available slots, reminders, rescheduling and cancellation by link.
- Catalogue or online store — products, cart, Montonio payments and parcel machine delivery.
The development process, step by step
- Enquiry. You describe the task and receive questions or an estimate within 24 hours.
- Quote and contract. Scope, price and deadline are agreed; work starts after signing and a prepayment.
- Build. The site is developed on a staging address you can check from your phone; two rounds of revisions are included.
- Content and setup. Texts and photos go into the admin panel, language versions and forms are configured.
- Launch. The domain is connected and you receive admin access plus a short guide in your language.
What we need from you
Content affects the timeline far more than code does. The sooner it is ready, the sooner the site goes live.
- A description of your company and services: what sets you apart, who you work for, what customers usually ask.
- Texts in the required languages, or agreement for the studio to write them — a separate line in the quote.
- Photos of your work, premises and people. Until they arrive, the site shows placeholders describing the shot needed.
- Your logo and brand colours, if you have them.
- Access to your current domain, if one is already registered.
What affects the cost of a website
The starting price is shown at the top of this page — it covers a simple website. A one-language brochure site and a three-language booking site are very different amounts of work, so the exact amount is calculated for your task and fixed in the quote. It depends on:
- the number of pages and sections;
- the number of language versions and who handles translation;
- online booking, a catalogue or a store with payments;
- moving content from an old website;
- copywriting and photography by the studio;
- custom integrations such as Maksekeskus or Stripe, which are not built into the engine and are developed separately.
How long it takes
A simple site is the quickest to build; a site with booking or a catalogue takes longer, and a store with payments and product migration takes the longest. The exact date is written into the contract.
The timeline runs from the day texts and photos are delivered, so if content is late, the launch moves with it.
Studio engine vs site builder vs WordPress
Each option has its strengths. Here is how they compare on the points that usually matter to a small business in Estonia:
| Criterion | Studio engine | Site builder (Wix etc.) | WordPress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Editing content | Admin panel tailored to your business; the layout cannot break | Visual editor; blocks are easy to shift by accident | WordPress dashboard; appearance depends on the theme |
| Three languages | Built in: separate URLs, hreflang, meta tags | Depends on the platform and plan | Through multilingual plugins |
| Local payments and parcel machines | Montonio plus Omniva, DPD and SmartPosti out of the box | Local options are not always available | Through WooCommerce and add-on modules |
| Updates | Handled by the studio as part of maintenance | Handled by the platform | Core, theme and plugins need regular updates |
| If you decide to leave | Domain is yours; data exports as an archive | The site usually stays on the platform | Files and database can move to any host |
After launch
The site moves to monthly maintenance: hosting, domain, certificate, engine and security updates, backups and minor edits. Maintenance is listed as a separate line in the quote.
Everyday changes — prices, photos, new services — you make yourself in the admin panel. To grow traffic, you can add SEO or advertising on Google and social media.
Pricing
The cost depends on the scope
Starting prices are shown on each service page and on the Pricing page. The exact cost depends on the scope — languages, sections, payments, booking — and is worked out for the task and fixed in the quote and the contract before work starts.
Describe the task
What the site has to do, who it is for and what takes up your time today. A reply comes within 24 hours — with clarifying questions or a preliminary estimate of cost and timing.
Quote and deadline in the contract
What is included, for how much and by when is fixed before the work starts. The price does not grow along the way: new large sections are priced separately and in advance, not on the invoice.
Monthly maintenance
Hosting, certificate, platform and security updates, backups and small edits — a separate monthly line in the quote. Domain renewal is paid to the registrar unless the contract says otherwise. If you decide to leave, you take the content as an archive and the domain, which is registered in your name.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can the website be edited without a developer after launch?
Yes. Texts, prices, photos, services and products are all edited in the admin panel. The layout cannot be broken from there, so the mobile version stays intact after every change.
Who writes the website copy?
By default, the texts are yours: the studio provides a structure and the questions to answer, and edits the language. If you prefer, the studio writes the copy as a separate line in the quote.
Does the site have to be in three languages?
No — one, two or three languages are all possible. If your customers speak different languages, each version gets its own URL and meta tags and is indexed separately.
Whose name is the domain registered in?
Yours. The studio only connects it to the site, so the domain stays with your company if you ever change providers.
Do you guarantee a top position on Google?
No, and nobody honestly can. The site is built to be easy for search engines to understand: separate language URLs, correct headings, fast loading. Rankings also depend on competition and ongoing content work.
