Restaurant and café website: menu, orders and table requests
Guests usually open a restaurant website on a phone, looking for three things: the menu, the opening hours and a way to order or book a table. A restaurant and café website delivers them quickly and in a language the guest understands.

A menu as a web page, not a picture
A menu uploaded as a photo or PDF is hard to read on a phone, cannot be translated and is barely found by search engines when people look for a dish. A web page menu is text: sections, dishes, descriptions, prices and labels.
Dishes and prices are updated in the admin panel in a minute: a seasonal menu, the dish of the day, a dessert that has sold out. Allergen information goes into the dish description or a general note — the Agriculture and Food Board (PTA) also accepts a notice that staff will provide allergen information on request.
Takeaway and delivery orders
- A cart and checkout straight from the menu.
- Order acceptance hours for each day of the week and kitchen preparation time.
- Orders “as soon as possible” or for a chosen time.
- Delivery zones, each with its own delivery time and conditions.
- A choice for out-of-hours orders: accept them for opening time, or honestly show “closed now”.
- Payment via Montonio, order notifications in Telegram and by email.
Direct orders alongside Wolt and Bolt Food
Direct ordering does not replace delivery platforms; it complements them. Regulars and visitors who arrive from the website or Google order directly, and their contact details and order history stay with the venue rather than the platform.
Guests can also collect orders themselves: they choose the pickup time, and the kitchen sees the order in Telegram straight away.
Table booking by request
The guest sends a request with the date, time and number of people; the venue receives it in Telegram and confirms. This suits most cafés and restaurants, where a manager allocates the tables.
A floor plan with automatic table allocation, or a link to a reservation system already in use, is built as custom development within the project.
Tourists and languages
The Estonian, Russian and English versions live on separate URLs, so the menu can be found through searches in each of these languages. According to the Language Board (Keeleamet), when menus and price lists are offered in other languages, consumer information must also be available in Estonian.
For venues in tourist areas where Finnish or German matters, additional languages are added as custom development.
Prices, opening hours and the map
Menu prices are shown as final prices including taxes. A separate TTJA rule applies to the premises themselves: the food and drink price list must be displayed right next to the main entrance. Next to the menu, the site shows opening hours, holiday hours, the address on a map and seasonal details such as a summer terrace. All of it is edited in the admin panel.
What the venue prepares
- The current menu with prices and allergen labels.
- Kitchen hours and the rules for orders and delivery.
- Photos of dishes and the dining room.
- Texts in the required languages, or approval for the studio to prepare them.
- A Montonio contract for online payments.
Pricing
The cost depends on the scope
Starting prices are shown on each service page and on the Pricing page. The exact cost depends on the scope — languages, sections, payments, booking — and is worked out for the task and fixed in the quote and the contract before work starts.
Describe the task
What the site has to do, who it is for and what takes up your time today. A reply comes within 24 hours — with clarifying questions or a preliminary estimate of cost and timing.
Quote and deadline in the contract
What is included, for how much and by when is fixed before the work starts. The price does not grow along the way: new large sections are priced separately and in advance, not on the invoice.
Monthly maintenance
Hosting, certificate, platform and security updates, backups and small edits — a separate monthly line in the quote. Domain renewal is paid to the registrar unless the contract says otherwise. If you decide to leave, you take the content as an archive and the domain, which is registered in your name.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can the menu simply be uploaded as a PDF?
Technically yes, but then it is harder to read on a phone and does not show up when people search for dishes. A web page menu is transferred once and then edited in the admin panel.
Does the site take orders when the kitchen is closed?
As the venue decides: orders are either accepted for the next opening time, or the site shows that it is closed and hides the order button.
Is a table booking confirmed automatically?
No, it arrives as a request and the venue confirms it. Automatic table allocation is custom development.
Do we have to leave Wolt and Bolt Food?
No. Ordering on the website runs in parallel with the platforms.
How do guests find out about allergens?
Allergens can be listed in each dish description, or a general note can say that staff will provide the information. The venue chooses the wording.
Who translates the menu into Estonian and Russian?
The venue can provide its own translations, or the studio prepares them. Dish names and labels are checked with the kitchen so the translation does not promise different ingredients.
